Biography
Dav Pilkey was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on March 4th, 1966. While he was attending elementary school, he was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia. Dav Pilkey was also a writer from a young age; his first book, World War Won, was published in 1987 after Pilkey won a national competition for student authors. The spelling of hid name, Dav, comes from his teenage years working at a Pizza Hut, where the "e" from his name was left off. Dav is still pronounced as "Dave".
